A common type of filtration process, called distillation or reverse osmosis, removes almost all content from water, including minerals. Such water is sometimes referred to as ‘aggressive water’ as it actively absorbs minerals to create chemical balance.

Naturally, when a person drinks such water it drains their bodies of essential nutrients. Apart from that, RO or distilled water is known to taste flat, especially when used to make beverages.

RO or distilled water is most useful only in countries where water is scarce e.g. in the Middle East. Countries such as Malaysia have abundant water supply approved by the WHO, and thus do not require mineral-deficient RO water
